Wednesday, October 18th, 2006 - JDM Around the Globe

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is becoming more and more popular, and not just in the USA. We have visitors from all over the world, and we might have more if it weren’t for that pesky language barrier. We are very much aware that not everyone speaks English, which is why we have decided to expand JDMorgan.net!

We will be adding a sub-domain for our international visitors, featuring information and hopefully also articles and TV alerts in as many languages as we get volunteers for. That’s right, we’re going to need your help to make this possible!

JDMorgan.net is looking for volunteers: Do you live in a non-English speaking country, speak English well enough to translate texts from English to the language of your country, and have some time on your hands? Then you can help!

Job description: Translate Jeffrey’s biography into your native tongue, keep an eye out for JDM appearance on TV in your country, and transcribe (or scan in) online and offline articles that mention Jeffrey released in the language of your country. You do not need to know how to code a website: just send us the info and we’ll put it online for you. Of course you will be listed as contributor for all your hard work! (Unless you wish to remain anonymous.) And if you have suggestions as to what else we could add to our non-English pages, please don’t hesitate to let us know!

A German version of JDMorgan.net is already in the works. Languages we’re looking for: to make it short, whatever language you’re speaking, we’re happy to add it! Heck, you speak Latin? Bring it on! Dead languages are languages too. ;)

If you’re interested in helping out, please email me at webmaster@jdmorgan.net, with the subject line ‘International’.

We will also be adding a category to our message board where our non-English speaking members can then chat among themselves if they like. You’re welcome to request forums. Forums already on the to-add list: French and German.

Sunday, October 8th, 2006 - Merchandise for a Good Cause

As many of you are already aware, we’ll soon be offering merchandise via a CafePress store. $1 (or $2) of each sold item will be donated to a charity picked by Jeffrey in Jeffrey’s name. (All prices will be CafePress base price + $1 or $2 for charity. We will not be making money from the items sold.)

We’re going to need your help to make this as successful as possible. Please take a moment to reply to the following. You can do so in this topic posted on our message board. You’ll have to register an account there if you haven’t already.

1. Originally we were going to add $1 to each item. Question: since it’s for a good cause, would you be cool with paying $2 more instead? Check out a list of items CafePress offers here. They also list the base price of the items. Taking their base price into consideration, would $2 more be too much? While we want to do good, there’s no point in it if no one’s going to buy anything because they can’t afford to.

2. Please let us know what sort of items you’d be interested in! (See link above for listing.) Again, no point in offering, say, a teddy bear wearing a t-shirt with Jeffrey’s name on it if no one’s going to buy it. We’re happy to offer items from all categories with the exception of books and cds.

3. What do your want your t-shirt or tote bag, etc, to say? Let us know and we’re happy to make a design just for you! Every $1 counts, after all! Please feel free to let others know if you like their ideas, so we can gauge interest in the items.

Thanks for your help, everyone! :)

Of course you’ll also be able to donate $$. We’ll share the details, including the name and purpose of the charity, once everything has been arranged.
