Account Registration, admin approval now required Options

Preamble

To view topics and post on this board, one needs to register an account. [Exception: everyone can view the Info Center.] In the past, all one had to do was activate their account by entering a code sent to them in an activation email after sign-up.

Due to an influx of spammer / bot sign-ups, I had to set all new registrations to admin approval. This means after one has registered, the board admin (myself) needs to manually approve the new account after performing a few tests to determine whether this account is a spammer or not. If one attempts to activate their account before this has happened, they will get the following message: "Sorry, you cannot perform this action until the board administrator has approved your account."

To all new and future members

If your account hasn't been approved after 48 hours (although I try to approve accounts within 24 hours, max.), or you've been turned away by mistake (which can happen, and I apologize in advance if it does; detecting spammers isn't an exact science, I'm afraid), you're more than welcome to contact me at webmaster@jdmorgan.net and I will activate your account right away.
